Wondering if i should get this game, I don't usually play with friends mostly because they're console bashers and I'm a PC gamer, is there any point?
And what is so good about it? I watch gameplay and it looks good, but people make out like it's unbelievable, is it for real?

The Pro Games (FrankieOnPcin1080p / Lirik) make the game look so much better than it is, but it is a pretty fun game to play with mates, build bases on epoch etc. i would buy the Arma 2 Combined Operations and try out Dayz Epoch & Overpoch, as it is more fun that standalone at this moment in time : add me on steam : [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

If I have to buy Day Z AND Arma 2, then I'm probably not gonna get the Arma 2, unless Arma 2 comes with Day Z, I'm not spending 30 on a game I MIGHT like, I'll have a think about Day Z, quite tempted to see what all the fuss is about

FrankieOnPCin20180p was actually a proven hacker.

There's more proof of him hacking than him trying to say he didnt

Playing DayZ is some what like Minecraft on Hardcore mode. It's an extremely punishing BUT rewarding game. Standalone or Arma Mod. Standalone now has vehicles (excessively rare though), some new features like cannibalism (also in Arma 2 Mod but buggy), gun modification/building/maintenance. Arma 2 Mod has a ton of features of it's own: currency systems, more vehicles, weapons, easier on graphics and not in Alpha or Beta.

Really it's your choice, if anything though I would say play Arma 2 DayZ mod first THEN try Standalone.

What really appeals to people is the difficulty in the game or strategy and always being a bandit or hero. Myself, I usually try to play the hero and stick to military tactics and communications to try to keep me and my teams organized and effective. The Arma 2 Mod version has probably at the same time the most retarded and violently difficult AI I have ever fought against in my nearly 2 decades of gaming PC and Consoles. The game will put you either in a sense of fear, adrenaline, happiness, violent anger, or suicidal depression.

If you like doing things like forcing fresh spawns to fight while you and friends place wagers, then yes it's pretty fun. My friend decided to break my arms and legs, handcuff me, and force feed me raw human flesh. Let's just say this game can get really morbid really fast, but can be a hell of a lot of fun.
