Get H1Z1. It's just came out but is already better made than DayZ.

From what I've heard, H1Z1 is pay to win, so I'm just going to wait a bit and learn more about it before I end up getting it. DayZ is still a lot of fun though.

it is not pay to win it is a 10% chance of you getting guns from airdrops plus you won't probably get it as others can team up, kill you and take your airdrop.

op- H1Z1 is already 10 times better than dayz ever was and every day it is doing nothing but improving with updates in my opinion.

Get H1Z1. Why? I'll tell you below:

1. More optimised, sure this might not be an issue but coming from me who is currently running an old AMD that's worse than an I3 Intel and getting a steady 60 FPS with an NVidia 660 compared to 20 at best on Dayz.

2. It's NOT P2W. The first day the game came out the air drops were a little overpowered, not sure why people didn't know that they were in the game since the devs explained it numerous times before the game even came out that people would be able to buy in game drops that would give a player ransom loot, people didn't bother looking at the dev streams and didn't follow the games development so of course then will cry P2W when it first comes out. Since then they have changed the chance to get guns etc and also changed the way a player can call in the air drop. It's more balanced.

3. FRIENDLY! The people that play the game are more friendly than in DayZ. I've me countless people who either ask if I wanna join in with them or just simply say hello as I'm walking buy. This makes the gameplay ALOT more fun.

TLDR; H1Z1 is just overall better, granted it's in early Alpha so please don't expect a miracle of a game yet.

I dont have H1Z1 but i have Day-z and it is horribly optimized and from what i have heard H1Z1 is better optimized, so i would recommend H1Z1.

H1Z1 is more player friendly. DayZ has a bigger learning curve and is more realistic in the overall schemes of things. From what I can see H1Z1 is like how rust was when it had zombies.

Rust is a good game as well with custom servers and mods. Survival without the zombies (there are other things like mutant bears and shit).

I would also recommend H1Z1 too; with constant updates that improve the game it's only getting better. It will eventually be one the best there has been.
