Detox from caffeine for at least 24 hours prior to the procedure.
It blocks the novocaine and dentists somehow forget to mention that a lot of the time.

Other than that, there isn't much you can do with it.
Everyone is nervous about that sort of thing, very few people are comfortable at the dentist.

Just don't avoid it, if it has to be done it has to be done.
Better off getting it done and suffering for a day rather than being in pain for a month waiting on an appointment.

Before: Well to save personal embarrassment obviously make sure your teeth/mouth are/is nice and clean - other than that, nothing - I'm not sure if wisdom is general or local anaesthetic but I wouldn't eat before the operation personally.

After: Make sure you have a lot of painkillers (paracetamol/ibruprofen) around the house. Yoghurts and Ice/Ice cream are useful to have around the house after any sort of mouth operation, as they will fill you up with out going through the pain of chewing, soup is good for this as well.

If you're worrying just remember its one of the most common procedures nowadays - you'll be fine

hope this helped

I just had 4 of them taken last week. My best advice for you, is to wash your mouth with salt water after each meal.

Before: stock up on easy to swallow meals. Your jaw won't behave very well for a while.

After: You're gonna be drowsy, sore, and irritable and pretty much feel awful. Also, beware the second night, make sure to take plenty of pain killers because I kind of forgot and figured that it was Ok since it was already 48 hours since the procedure and boy was I wrong. Just do your best to eat and sleep as much as possible, makes the time go by faster. Also the blood clots falling out is the worst thing that can happen so avoid any bumps in the jaw. Good luck buddy.

Run away and live in the wild. Out there they will never make you have your teeth ripped out they'll accept you for who you truly are.
