Guy Fawkes night / Bonfire night is an annual celebration commemorated on the 5th of november

The History goes back to 1605 when Guy Fawkes, A member of the gunpowder plot who was arrested guarding explosives the plotters had placed beneath the house of lords in parliament.

Celebrating the fact that King James I had survived the attempt on his life, people lit bonfires around London, and months later the introduction of the Observance of 5th November Act enforced an annual public day of thanksgiving for the plot's failure

Usually each year I would go to a display but this year me & my family have contributed into buying these fireworks, so this year we are just setting them off at home

Worst night of the year if you have pets.
I don't see the appeal of fireworks. Bright lights, loud noises, and dogs barking. So fun.

If there was a Grinch for the 5th of November, that'd be me.

Used to go out with my family to watch the display, grown out of that now so last year went to a mates and we let off some fireworks, this year I've been a home. The people who host our main fireworks display and the rugby clubs decided to do it on Friday instead of tonight, meaning there's not the buzz that there normally is

When I was younger I'd go to a display or sometimes buy our own, but this year and that past few years I've not done anything.

I like fireworks and all, but I don't see much point in Bonfire Night, same with Halloween too.
