I reset my xbox after running into this issue and it seems to be working fine now. Give it a try.

I know right, I was looking forward to playing before I go to sleep for college. Xbox is annoying af

There is currently no solution to this issue so far, and it seems to be rather random, it seems to happen if you are in Xbox Update Preview Program. In that case, it is highly recommended that you stay on the latest update in order to avoid any issues.

I believe it's because of so many people downloading the update.

I have it downloaded but nothing is happening.

That is so true, Xbox would screw something up when a decent game comes out for once...

I have the disc copy and still stuck on updating hasnt even got to 1% this is stupid haha

Disc copies of the game have to download a 21gb update when installing

I'm on the preview dash, and have the digital copy, but i'm EST time, so i'll have to wait another 5h 30 min to play.

Mine is on 4% and it's been 33 mins since it made me re download stupid might aswell get some sleep and game on tomorrow
