You must go to a gym filled with immature children if that happens. You are stereotyping a large group just because that happens where you are from. I know in my gym, everyone usually keeps to themselves unless asking for a spot and there's a generally friendly atmosphere.

By saying "You don't want to generalize" And then saying "They're aggressive and ignorant" You generalized.

Well that's your answer. The anime thing ruins anyone's social life.

They are just pricks. I lift weights and i really like it. Every time i see a kid who really doesn't lift come to the gym, i respect them more because they are at least making an effort to come to the gym and try something new. I also will agree that it is a competition though.

Me and my mates used to say, when you first start at the gym you go through the " GymTw4t" stage. after that you are fine.

I just started recently lifting and all the guys that are ripped usually just give me pointers on form and technique. None of them are douches at all or look down on me for the weight im doing. But maybe thats just my gym :/

Complete opposite in my school. If a kid wants to start or doesn't know what to do they will show him. Im in weights, but I'm not a weightlifter.

I'm very into working out and staying in great shape and If I see a newcomer I'll help him out. I like working out because it's a competition between me and my friends but we push each other to make them better

This really frustrates me, just because bodybuilders are all toned and muscly doesn't mean they have the right to push others around
