where does your DVD key appear xell (if it does, if not where do i find it?) Because it is only showing my cpukey
That's odd. Normally it shows both of them. You need to flash the Dvd key to your system.

How do you just flash the dvdkey??? Do i need to reflash a nand?

You need to patch the KV with your consoles DVD key so yes you would need to reflash it. Or you can maybe use those new files or whatever and just put the KV on the root of your HDD but I'm not familiar with them myself. You can get it if you open an old nand backup in any program such as jrunner or autogg. I'm pretty sure that jrunner patches your dvd key for you now but if not you can use 360 flash tool to do so.

On the right is my old nand (before updates and new kvs being flashed) which has my dvd key in it (ABCDC etc) and on the left is my current nand... how do i flash my dvd key to the kv? If i click on settings and go on keys, it only brings up CPUKEYS...

EDIT:

In xebuild I have now loaded my current nand and in the xebuild settings on the right I have put my dvd key:

Do i just hit save xebuild settings, then generate the updflash?

On the left all you need to do is hit patch, check the patch KV box, copy your DVD key from your original KV into the DVD Key box and change the OSIG to your DVD model type (VAD6038...). Then flash it and it should work!

I have just tried this and trying it through xebuild and both times it still says play DVD... When flashing the nand do I do with or without current kv?

If you are using LiveHive, put your DVDKey.bin on the root of your HDD.

I had the exact same problem as you. Tried everything to fix. I flashed my NAND about 6 times and it still did not work.

I had a feeling that it was a plugin or launch.ini issue, so I booted the console with the power button, then pressed eject 2 seconds later. I didn't think it would work, but it did. My games came up as games not DVD anymore.

Hmm I had this same exact problem with my Corona RGH dual nand. For whatever reason my dvd drive would not work on the RGH side without stock KV but it'd work fine on the retail side. I suppose it's worth a try to use another KV but I don't see how that would matter personally, I never did solve the issue with mine since I never used the dvd drive on the RGH side anyways so I couldn't justify spending the time to work on it. I should have a couple old banned KV's on my computer somewhere if you need another one to try. If you're still having problems in a little bit I can try to look at it for you if youd like.

Hmm I'll give this a try in a little bit, such a simple fix if it does it haha.

If you're going to flash your NAND, then just use xell. It is easier to use and better in my opinion. Just put updflash on root of USB and boot into xell and let it find it.
