If you have already tried Astro, then try Turtle Beach.
Can I ask what is wrong with the Astros?

Yep turtle beach x12s are the one to go for in my opinion as they can be used on multiple platforms, have surround sound and are relatively cheap

I do not know if you play PC or xbox but as far as stand alone mics go you can't go wrong with blue microphones or Audio Technica microphones. The quality is good and when paired with something like the ATH m50 headphones it is really nice. However if you need a new mic for consoles I have always used Turtle Beaches and found the quality of the mic is the same as any other, and they are comfy.

I have always loved my blue mic. Never had a problem with it and sounds great.

If you're looking for Turtle Beaches, I suggest the X12s. Although money isn't a problem, they're still cheap. They are also completely black. If you take care of them, they'll be well. Mine have no problems and I enjoy them. My friend didn't take care of his and they turned out to be bad. They can be uncomfortable if you don't wear them properly and for long hours.
