i think they are all the same but I am used to windows 7 but when i got a window 8 laptop i Am not sued to it and i ams till not used it it and i have had it for couple of months now

8.1 can perform slightly better in games and you can make it function exactly like 7 would at the desktop.

I like windows 8.1 , the boot up speed is so nice. I like it better than windows 7.

I want to say windows 7 because of compatibility issues but realistically I'm sure windows 8 could run most of it without a problem. I've used windows 8 a couple time and I'm not a big fan of it just because of the UI. Either one will do. Windows 8 may perform better, but not by much or even noticeable.

As r00t said, if your looking form a gaming perspective, Windows 8 is the way to go as it has a slight FPS boots compared to windows 7

Apparently, there are ways to get Windows 8 to look like 7 which is also good
