Synopsis
Dead to Rights: Retribution is a visually stunning 3rd person action game, rich in story, character and brutal combat. The game follows vice cop Jack Slate and his canine companion Shadow as they fight to expose the shadowy figures of Grant City and bring order back to the crumbling metropolis. Deadly on their own, Jack and Shadow are even more formidable as they team up to defeat the threats they will uncover.

Gameplay
The gameplay of this game consists of you being a brutal cop with a canine companion. Jack and Shadow fight their way through enemies, all the while making their way through the game world. The game is set in Grant City. The game is third person, and is a reboot of the Dead to Rights franchise/series.

Plot
The game starts with Jack, the cop you play as collapsing onto a boat dock after getting off of a tugboat, where Jack is instantly confronted by Grant City Triad, who intend to take Jack's life for earlier events and for revenge! Shadow, Jack's dog and partner, pounces out from the fog of the boat dock and brutally kills all of the gang members who try to hurt Jack. Jack and Shadow then make their way to a bar where they meet an EMT named Faith Sands, where she leads Jack into a flashback to a terrorist takeover of Temple Tower, where Jack disobeys a direct order from his captain where he bursts into the doors killing many gang members, saving hostages, and then chasing the fleeing gang boss, who later escapes in a futuristic helicopter. Jack is saved from a vain death to the armed helicopter by his captain and the rest of his SWAT team. Later, Jack, his father, Frank, and shadow go onto their own private investigation to figure out a lead on the escaped gang boss he chased earlier, Riggs.

Story
The story within this game is thrilling to say the least. You get to play as a cop, with a deadly dog named Shadow as your partner. The game and story make you feel like a hero that is helping the civilians keep a peaceful city and eliminate gangs from their precious Grant City. The story is thrilling and fun from start to finish and will leave you wanting more. This is one of the best cop story line games that I have ever played.

Graphics
The graphics within this game are actually brilliant. The graphics are gritty and clean at the same time. The graphics within this game make you feel as you a hero, but one that doesn't always have it so easy and he gets his butt kicked sometimes. That being said, the graphical department for this game did this series and this game wonders. The graphics for this game are top notch and what not. Some of the best that I have seen, in a while anyways.

Controls
The controls of this game resemble that of many other third person action shooters. The controls for aiming and shooting, as well as controlling Shadow all flow very well together. The controls also have some ties back into the original Dead to Rights and previous installments within this gaming series, but anyone should be able to pick up a controller and be able to play the game efficiently. No complaints within the control layout!

Personal Note: This game is amazing. Really thrilling story as well as a fun gaming experience in it's own way. The game has a gritty/dirty feel to it that will make you feel like a battered hero all the while keeping you entertained and always wanting more within the game. Definitely worth a play, maybe even a purchase to some!
