Hey guys, I haven't really been active on here since I got my Xbox One but I just sold that and I have two old 360 consoles and I'd like to jtag one of them!

The console I want to jtag has RRoD unfortunately, but it's on the original dash and I've already checked the kernel, it's definitely jtaggable. So if anyone can help me fix that, that'd be great otherwise I planned on just dropping some cash on getting it repaired at a store!

Anyway, once that's fixed, I don't really have a clue what to do! I know there are YouTube videos out there but I also know some of those videos are fake and meant to make you mess your console up. I was hoping someone could either reply or PM me a list of tools I'll need and either a written or video tutorial on how to jtag the console! It's already opened up, I just need to know what I need and what to do.

I understand jtags, so don't feel like you have to talk down to me or anything. Any and all help is greatly appreciated! Also, if you think it would be cheaper for me to send my console to someone (trusted) in the marketplace to fix it and jtag it than to do it on my own, please let me know! Thanks to anyone who helps out in advance

EDIT: The motherboard is Opus/Falcon. If it matters which one of those two it is, please let me know how to find out specifically which one it is and I'll figure it out!

What type of console is it, and what dash is it on?

I just updated my post after I realized I forgot to add that info! It's a falcon/opus and is the cb version the same as the kernel? If so, the console used to turn on for roughly 5 minutes before getting the red ring and turning off, so I was able to see that. Now, as soon as I start it up, it red rings and won't continue with the startup.

It is not HDMI and it was manufactured in March 2006. I'll be back on the forums later tonight, I'm heading out now so sorry for a long reply time!

The console is more than likely a Xenon due to the MFD, and the non-hdmi.

Then it is going to be a xenon, in that case its really not worth getting fixed.

Would it be better to send to someone to fix and jtag it for me?

He just said no. The only way that it would be worth it would be if you could fix it yourself, but since you probably don't have the right equipment, it's not worth it. It would be like $30 to JTAG and $30+ to reball not including the $30 worth of you shipping and him shipping. That's around $90 you could have invested in a better console such as a Slim RGH ($150-200). Xenons are terrible and don't have a lot to offer.

Well said. Just from a mathematical point of view Xenons are hardly worth the time and effort when that money plus just a small amount more can be applied to purchase a much more reliable console.
