Your all being judgmental. Let them do what they want. It's Their choices and if they want to ruin there lives like that then let them be. They surely don't need all of this hate on them for there single choices.
also if you think about it. That age was normal for girls to be giving birth. Think 200-1000 years back and it was normal.

CB9 wrote Thats unreal, but just goes to show what this generation is like.

The bottom 2 lines stood out for me though

You obviously don't know what you're talking about when you want to talk about "generation".

This happens in every single generation, they just didn't have social media to document it before now.

The babys mum and dad have been in a relationship for more than a year, so this isnt a fleeting romance. They intend to stick together and bring their daughter up together.

Wait are you serious? They're 13 years old. How is this not a "fleeting romance?"

I wish them the best of luck, but, really?

Kids having kids is wrong in my opinion.
I wouldn't have have a child until the timing is right because I would need to ensure that I would have sufficient funding etc.

Disgusting..... The grandparents can be supportive as much as they want but these kids lives are ruined.

Call me old fashioned but it takes an Adult to look after a child not a child to look after a child. They have not even been fully educated they have no way to support the baby (without the grandparents).

What about the law?

This story is not cute nor is it something new it has happened before in the past yet as somebody said before social media was not as rife as it was back then as it is now. The police should be investigating how this happened and why did both sets of parent allow this to happen and why were no precautions taken. "This is not just some fleeting romance" lol wat they should be playing with lego and getting grounded for coming home late not having a "romance" .

This should be dealt with as a crime not glorified by newspapers as something special because all this does is encourage other children to think YOLO lets get nekid and experiment and get pregnant and maybe we can appear on the front page of a useless newspaper.

Yeah so I think this is pathetic and it should have never happened.

This is what I'm not understanding.
If they were both 13, it technically wouldn't be a crime unless one of them pressed charges.
The girl is 12 though, legally in the UK she isn't allowed to consent to sex, this was a flat out crime.

I'm not an expert on UK law, so I don't know if there are other circumstances which add to that, but from what I can see, that boy should have been arrested.
