This just pisses me off, I wanted to make a rant about this a long time ago.
A kid on game chat just told his friend that he wanted a zombie apocalypse to happen so he could just kill. Every time I here this, they think it will be like a freaking video game.

If a zombie apocalypse were to occur, it would not be like "Black Ops Zombies". You're not going to find a weapon on a wall/box or find an insta-kill. Instead, there will be millions of people of suffering. The kid says he doesn't care about dying, well what about your family? Would you love seeing your family and friends die from an infection and turning in to a zombie?
Plus, he's a kid so I doubt he'll have the guts to kill a someone let alone a zombie, unless he was this kid

This has been discussed before. I agree, people have no idea what is in store for them if something happens. Most people are ill-prepared and even panic and the slightest disruption in their daily routine or life. A few examples are, and I am not saying that these events are minor, Katrina, the super-storm in NY and NJ a few years ago, any power outages......etc. People do not know how to deal with most things. Once the power goes out they loose their minds. Look at how many people freak out when Twitter goes down for an hour, now think about those people when the world starts falling apart. Below is what I posted on an earlier topic about whether or not people would survive a "Zombie Apocalypse".

Archives/t=5215608/could-you-surv...rt=80.html
Casca wrote There is a ton of things to consider
The end of
Electricity
Refrigeration
Every single processed food that you have ever eaten (except Twinkies Very Happy and yes they are making a comeback)
Social Services (Fire, EMT, Police...etc)
Law and order
Everything that you know to be normal

To survive you will need to know either a basic or (Hopefully) and advanced understanding of
Hunting
Trapping
Fishing
Field Dressing animals and tanning hides
Farming (or at least gardening and everything that goes with it)
Curing meat
Canning
Field medicine (There are no more hospitals, emergency services, antibiotics....etc)
Weapon handling
Ammunition reloading
Tool manufacturing (blacksmith)
Carpentry (for your house and other structures)
Water Purification
Sewing
Field hygiene (remember that most of the plumbing will be out)
Animal husbandry (You will need cows, pigs, chickens, goats and horses)
Candle making
Forestry (You will have to cut down trees for fuel and for your house and other structures)
Land Navigation

That is just a short list of what will cease and what skills you would need to develop. You also need to remember that you would have to pull the trigger on the majority of the population or at least handle a weapon to defend yourself.

Just walk through a normal day right now and remember that EVERYTHING will be different.

The biggest problem is surviving the first 24-48 hours.
How many here have a "Go Bag" with the essentials?
Weapons (assault, sidearm, shotgun and possibly a long range rifle)
Ammo (LOTS OF IT)
Armor
Helmet
AX/Tomahawk/Hooligan Tool
Multi-tool and knife
Utility clothes
Boots
Water
Water purification equipment
Food for 1 week
Flashlights
Batteries for all equipment
Access to a vehicle
Extra gas
Local Maps with major locations highlighted (hospitals, police, stores - food, hardware, surplus, gun...etc and an idea of where any hardened locations are that you can defend)
GPS
Emergency radio
Spare burner phone with batteries with the following numbers (CDC, Local FEMA, police and hospital) along with your personal numbers
Spare car battery
Medical Kit (TRAUMA and General)
CB Radio

Pretty much anyone with a boat and food and water supplies will survive and all of those doomsday preppers.

Is this actually a thread? Am I really seeing this? This is not something that people should get annoyed at. I think that your rant has perplexed me more than the stupid wee boy talking about impossibilities. Maybe if you said that it's the fact that these children are blabbering on about fictitious pish which annoys you then I could have accepted the rant. Of course what annoys you is the fact that they are ignoring the, non existent, reality of this fantasy. Next time tell the boy that if he wants a zombie apocalypse then he can head to Ibrox on match day.
