No because I wouldn't know what to do with the bomb if I found it. I'd probably just stare at it in awe.

I don't think you understand the purpose of the question.
Whether you know what to do with the bomb is irrelevant.
All that matters is that you are able to locate it in time. If you can then the city will be saved.

The original version of this thought experiment was just torturing the man, which is the one that I'm using.

oh really, because I saw the a thread similar to this some time last year and It was the way I mentioned it. I have seen unthinkable tho, decent movie.
