Okay, so today i was just sitting there and my Xbox just turned off and rebooted. I didn't think think anything was wrong with it so i just turned it back off.
So about 1:30 mins later i was playing gta and it just turned off again (still didn't think anything was wrong with it) but then I went to turn it back on and it would turn on for about a second and turned off so i kept hitting the power butin and after about 3 times of turning on and turning right back off it turned on and stayed on.
After that i just turned my Xbox off right when i knew it would stay off because i didn't wont to damage the system by leaving it on any longer.
Xbox type - Model 2008/2009, white with a 12 v power brick.
Any help would be very helpful!

Are all the cables plugged in all the way? A loose power connection can cause this.

It was probably overheating. I suggest letting it sit for a while to cool down. Your powerbrick could mess up if it overheats

It's probably the outlet, this happened to me plug it in somewhere else.

There are a few things that I can come up with.
If by any chance you are running an electrical heater on the same outlet, that will cause it to shut off randomly.
Also,Is your Xbox in a well vented area?
Have you tried a separate outlet?

Yeah try checking if your brick is showing a red light instead of green/orange when this happens.
