Why is it that so many players on XBL and PSN refer to one another as kids even though they are also young? It's even more baffling when they call older player kids also. Idk I think its just silly.

I hate that so much! The reason they do it is because they hear other people that are much older than them saying it so they think that they're cool saying it cause other people do it. It annoys me more than anything. :stern:

Really bugs me when people do that. It's as if they forget how old they are on Xbox or PS

I've been calling people "Child" since high school whether they are younger or older than myself. I started doing so because I was listening to alot of System of a Down and I was obsessed with the song Forest for some reason. I still do so now to a lesser extent, but I do see what you mean because I see my friend's father getting annoyed whenever I call him child.

There is logic behind this for me however.

A child could mean anyone that has any sort of parents because they are still technically a child to someone.

A kid on the other hand is usually associated with someone 10 years or younger (how I see it usually).

Because older people call everyone kid lol and "kids" pick up on that and just call everyone kid, its like smoking once a "kid" sees someone like their sister/brother smoking they would like to try it.

It is just a old thing people call each other.

It does get really annoying though.

When children are called names that they don't like, they copy and call someone else that name, which is the law of life, same as how children learn swearing from adults. You can't help it, it definitely is disturbing though.

Yes, its so irritating when a 12 yrs old
calls you a kid :russianroulette:

I get the feeling you're not much older, you have to be one of those people on TTG that feel the need to make their post stand out by making it bold, a larger text size and center it.
