I have had this happen to me before. It has something to do with your Internet Service Provider, or ISP. So, If I was you, I would call them, and explain the situation. And they will be able to fix your problem, by either coming out to your house and doing it, or fixing it straight from their end.

if you're not suing dial up, then the internet may be on a pass through from the phone to the router. Try running the internet straight to the router.

Sounds to me like either:

  • You're using Dial-Up
  • Whoever did the wiring did a terrible job

You need to ring up your ISP and have a tech get out to your house and take a look at your line and make sure everything is in working order, because that's not supposed to happen.

This exact same thing happens to me, i'm using a BT homehub. Not sure if it is the same with you.

Anyway, mines isn't every call, but most.

I've tried phoning up but they don't know how to fix it. I've just learned to deal with it.
