Is he the best, well no. No one can actually be the best in an opinion game, but to deny that man has some serious talent would be ignorant. He made it from nothing to everything, so in that right alone he is a rap hero as much as any other.

milkxking wrote Eminem is still the best rapper. Everyone seems to compare Eminem to Eminem, not any other rapper. Everytime a new Eminem album comes out people say "Oh this album sucks, his old stuff was better". Yes, his old albums were better, but even his worst albums are better than 99% of other rappers best albums. People say Recovery or MMLP2 sucked, find me another album that came out around that time that was better. Find me a rapper that can put words together, change flows in the middle of a song, use crazy metaphors and wordplay like Eminem can, even on his WORST stuff. Is MMLP 2 better than MMLP1? No. Is MMLP2 better than any other album that came out recently when it comes to the things I mentioned above? Yes.

You clearly don't listen to much rap. There are WAY better albums than the MMLP2 and the terrible Recovery that came out at around the same time, but that's not my main point so I won't get into it. You don't know what you're talking about.
I don't know what I'm talking about? Tell me a recent album where a rapper can change flows instantly, use crazy wordplay and metaphors, and putting words together like can. Exactly.

Uhh.. Tech N9ne has just as good word play and lyricism as Eminem. His album "Something Else" came out at around the same time as MMLP2. Ab Soul has just as good wordplay as Eminem, he even has grittier phrases and says things that will blow your mind. His most recent album is "Control System" from 2012.

I used to really enjoy his older music. And older I mean like before 3 years ago.

He's still good.

I'm not really in this conversation, but Earl, Kendrick, Ab-Soul, MF DOOM, Denzel Curry. There were so many projects better than MMLP 2 last year. Not to take anything away from Eminem, but even he knows he's past his prime otherwise he wouldn't do pop rap singles with Rhianna to sell. Before his departure Em's biggest hits weren't contrived at all. He had songs like The Real Slim Shady and Stan as singles.Expand your horizons a bit before you say that Eminem's albums are unparallelled.

One of the best of all time, however i cannot stand his new pop style rap... he used to make some real gritty songs and now its things like "monster".

Personally i only liked 3 songs on MMLP2 and that was bad guy, wicked ways and groundhog day.

Wow, I can't believe someone actually acknowledges MF Doom on this site. Definitely one of the GOAT's of Hip Hop, Even though he is strictly underground and not much people know about him.
