Synopsis
Delta Force: Black Hawk Down is a first-person shooter video game set during the United Nations intervention in the Somali Civil War, with missions taking place primarily in the Jubba Valley and the Somali Capital, Mogadishu. The game was developed by NovaLogic and was released on Microsoft Windows on March 24, 2003, on Mac OS X on June 21, 2004, on the PlayStation 2 on July 27, 2005 and on the Xbox on September 8, 2006. It is the 6th game of the Delta Force series.

Gameplay
This games gameplay is similar to the call of duty franchise gameplay. The gameplay is based on the 1992- 1993 peace missions in Somalia. The game is only offline and is campaign only making it just a one time thing to beat the campaign, and have fun the second time you play it. The gameplay in this game is fun and addicting, but also very annoying. It is probably the most war like game back when it came out. You run around shooting people and acting like its real war. You have to play serious in this game or you will die very fast, I believe it is 3-7 shots to get killed, so yea you have to play serious. The health bar is extremely low which can make the game better or worse depending on what type of player you are. I really hated how every time on the first mission I would run over a hill and get shot up and die real fast, it takes awhile to get used to how fast you die.

Plot
The player begins to play as a solider in the Task Force Rangers, shooting people with your squad mates, Huck, Mother, and Preacher. You are on an Operation called Operation Restore Hope, its where you stop the killing in Somalia, where the army has killed 300,000 innocent civilians. Once you get to the third mission in the game you will still be playing as the same character, but being assigned to a different squad and Operation, Operation Gothic Serpent. During the campaign the player will still play as the same character but be jumbled around every where killing more people, and later becoming known as the Delta Squad.

Graphics
The graphics for Delta Force: Black Hawk Down are really good for a 2003 game. The call of duty franchise seems like they copied the games graphics, for they are basically the same exact thing with different lighting and gun improvements. Any how the games graphics consist of high detailed guns that are up to 2003 standards, when you shoot the gun, gun shot smoke and more will come out. It has a wide variety of guns and attachments. One attachment on the guns is red dot sight, when you aim it is is like CoD: Ghosts sniping, you can see the surroundings and has a darker tint in the middle. It has a radar in the corner and a player view of what your character looks like, they are all highlighted in green. The buildings and environments are really detailed and dont look bad at all.

Controls
The controls are not bad at all, which every button has one control and makes it easier for the player to use. It has the similar controls to the Call of Duty franchise if you play it on the PS3. There isnt a series of buttons you have to press for any control to do which is a big thumbs up! Now the developers did put in an Advanced Controls to have if you want to do really good. These are completely optional and make the game easier but can be harder to, for you have to hold certain buttons. Overall the controls are really easy, if your a Call of Duty player I would recommend it to you.
