Firstly, this is the case I have.

Ok, so the fan in my PSU stopped working so I decided to replace the fan. In order to to this I had to disconnect my PSU from everything. However, I couldn't get to the 24 pin connector as one of my RAM sticks were in the way so I took that out and successfully managed to get to the 24 pin and eventually open my PSU. To my 'luck', the fans connector was soldered onto the PSU so I decided to put everything back where it was and instead of changing the fan, just get a new PSU all together.

So when I turned my PC back on I noticed a solid red light above the power switch... Nothing seems wrong, I checked how much memory my computer has on the 'properties' part and it said 8GB (like normal) so I don't think it's the RAM.

It should be worth noting that when I tried to put the RAM stick back in, it was REALLY hard and I applied a lot of force on top of it to clip it back in.

Could the light just be trying to tell me that the PSU's fan is broken?

(Also, this was my first time messing with computer hardware so go easy on me if I said anything wrong)

A solid red light above the power switch on the case? Do you mean the HDD access light?

The system won't recognize that a power supplies fan is faulty, as the support isnt there for it to monitor it. You should look at replacing the supply if you have not already done so.
