It really depends. I highly doubt you have a good GPU in the PC, so it would but be easier to build a new PC. And most likely you'd have to change the Motherboard out to install a new CPU anyway.

Then buy a decent one, and to do that I'd recommend building one. If you just bought that PC then I would do some research before buying a new one.

Is this a laptop or an actual desktop? You should of really thought about what PC you want to get before getting ones.Didn't you even ask how good it is before you bought it?

DayZ is still not fully optimized on Take On Helicopters' highly resource intensive engine. If you can give me the model of your GPU, I can help you more, but here's what I can give you now:

In Steam, right click DayZ and click Properties, then SET LAUNCH OPTIONS. Paste this:

-cpuCount=2 -high -noSplash -maxMem=6144 -exthreads=3

Save that, then the next time you run DayZ it should skip the Bohemia Interactive splash screen and the game should run a bit smoother. Your processor is not slow, but dual core is not ideal and I don't recommend building a new rig unless you feel it's necessary.

You also have a small amount of RAM. Press control + shift + escape, make sure you're on the Processes tab and sort by Memory. Start ending non-essential processes, like iexplore.exe, chrome.exe, firefox.exe, iTunes.exe and any other programs that are taking a significant amount of RAM. In your rig, DayZ alone takes up about 30.5% of your RAM, so I recommend also ending the small programs, since every bit helps. Don't end explorer.exe, svchost.exe, taskhost.exe, System, System Idle Processes or any virus scanners.

Also make sure you have 64-bit Windows. 32-bit Windows can only utilize 4GB of RAM; since you have more, a 64-bit OS is ideal.
