I would say 8GB ram would be minimum to be fair. There will also be a better performance if you have a graphics card that has 1GB+ dedicated too it.

No sorry, 4GB of ram won't.
8GB is still the average/minimum.
Also make sure if you're getting 8 get a higher mhz 1600mhz 1800mhz

Don't list to these people."it would lag your PC" ok you don't know what you're on about.

4GB is fine, however games want to use more,so if you CAN upgrade to 8GB but 4GB is still ok.

Playing games depends on your GPU/CPU more than any other component,so if you could list us your specs we could help.

RAM isn't a HUGE factor when it comes to games, GPU RAM is more important. Anyway, the newest CoD (Ghosts) requires 6GB of RAM to even start so 8GB is starting to become the standard. You shouldn't 'lag' when it comes to games with 4GB of RAM. Also, I seam to be living in the past, my RAM is clocked at 665Mhz (lel), still works fine for me.

That's equivalent to 1333 MT/s because DDR memory transfers data at both ends of the clock signal.

4GB of RAM isn't ideal for anything like games, but how much it affects your performance depends on your other specs. If you had 4GB of RAM with a 6670 and a low-end CPU, it would be different from having 4GB of RAM with a 270X and an mid-range CPU.

4GB's is the bare minimum and in an ideal situation 8GB's would be nice. You'd be surprised how fast RAM gets utilized when you only open a new AAA title like BF4 for example, a couple of computer monitoring programs, and 1 or 2 web pages.
