I was browsing youtube the other day and came across this vid:

It made me rather quite sad and got me thinking if we will ever see the dominant Dwight Howard again. A few years back he was a man among boys but now he seems mediocre. He's still a force defensively but is at times offensively challenged. His receding dominance may be due to the emergence of up and coming centers like roy hibbert and brook lopez but i still would like to see him post some monster numbers. what are your thoughts guys?

I think he definitely will he's just in a bit of a funk at the moment. Possibly from the Lakers to the Rockets overwhelmed him but he's not a good position right now. Once he finds that "Perfect Team," he'll be the monster he once was and even better.

The only thing that concerns me with Dwight and the rockets is that the team is not built around him. Its a makeshift from last seasons run-and-gun team. The team in Orlando ran through him and the post almost every possession allowing Howard to put up monster numbers. In L.A Dwight's scoring average dropped only slightly from his days in Orlando despite all the criticism but he wasn't dominant. This may have been because he was playing with a variety of scoring options but my question is how will Hardens role affect the dominance of Dwight.

With the Magic he was the Franchise player. They tried to build around him but it was taking way too long. Maybe an average team with him as the franchise player then he'll be back. He's not as athletic so that might be a factor aswell.

It's always hard to come back from back surgery and then substaining another injury to the shoulder. He is still dominate cause he averages double-doubles almost every game. You also have to look at his new team mates and how he must adjust to them. He is still considered the best Center despite not being like his old self

Yeah I think he will, feels like multiple things have been bothering him over the last year.(Injuries and Lakers)
Hopefully this year he can turn it around and have a significantly better season.

Personally don't think he will, back injury like that is serious business. Doesn't make him a total bust obviously lol but I don't think he'll be as he once was in Orlando especially.

He'll still continue to be a double double player though that's for sure.
