I was thinking about purchasing the Pokemon Y Nintendo 3DS Edition and of course Pokemon Y itself. I've never had a DS before and the only reason I want one now is because Pokemon Y looks sweet. Do you guys think it's worth it to buy the Nintendo 3DS + Pokemon Y?

I recently got a 3DS and Pokemon X, I absolutely love them. I reccomend X over Y, just because the exclusive mega evolutions are all better in X imo.

I purchased the 3DS back in June for the same reason, however you shouldn't be afraid to branch out a little. Don't stop with Pokemon Y, if this is the first DS that you'll own I highly suggest going back to Diamond/Pearl/Platinum and Black/White/B2/W2 as well because they were experiences of their very own. Don't stop at just Pokemon either, Nintendo has been (and still are) dishing out amazing games for this system such as Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, Super Smash Bros., Mario & Luigi Dream Team, etc. Think of this handheld as a new experience, it's like when you bought your first console, you definitely are going to want to branch out to other franchises so the fun never stops.

I used to love playing a variety of games on my Gameboy SP back in the day. But once the DS came out, I couldn't afford one and I fell behind on Pokemon games (I just kept replaying Emerald and Fire Red) but Pokemon Y got me to dish out $240 on a 3DS XL and the game. At first, I thought I was going to have severe buyers remorse even though I make good money where I work but honestly, I have never been more happy with a purchase!

Pokemon Y is a drastic improvement over any of the other games that have come out in the last few years. While the high price point for a 3DS (and I do recommend the XL, games look amazing) might scare you away, it gives you an unrivaled experience!

And if you do get the 3DS and Y, hit me up with your friend code

I am on old pokemon fan, I just quit playing after emerald, ruby, sapphire came out. Never had the money for the 3ds. But now that I'm 18 and have a job, sitting here watching my 9 year old brother play pokemon y makes me want to go out and buy one and pokemon x.
