Synopsis
From the most successful wrestling game series of all-time comes the next phenom in sports entertainment WWE SmackDown! vs. RAW. Two worlds will collide as the most elite Superstars square off on the PlayStation 2.

Gameplay
This game made a major improvement from the previous installation to the WWE series. This game supports both multi-player and single-player features. The largest difference from Here Comes to Pain was the addition of in-game mini-games which could be entered in different situations ranging from street fights, to submissions in the ring, to spanking fights between WWE divas. The damage meter stayed the same from the previous game as well as most of the same moves were brought back. Another improvement from other instalments is that more arenas were added into the game, although no extra game modes were added. The addition of in-game mini-games slows down the pace of the game a lot from the past games by Yukes which some may find better or worse. There were many new features added to the game including a challenge mode, a pay-per-view mode and create a championship. Pay-per-view mode allows the player to participate in big matches that were played in real life by the wrestlers and change the outcome to how they life, as long as they win. Create-a-superstar mode was also brought back and improved which was happily welcomed by most fans. Multi-player was definitely a let-down as it only supported two game types which were a one-on-one and Bra and Panties. Overall, this game made a drastic change for the better in the WWE game series.

Graphics
WWE SmackDown! vs. Raw brought with it a whole new graphics engine which is noticeably much better than any game created by Yukes before. The players, arenas and crowd are much more detailed as well as the game running much smoother. The players look more animated than before but definitely better. The new engine makes the game run very quickly and the characters move very smoothly for a game released seven years ago now. The graphics definitely would not match up to todays standards but at the time of release, this game had great graphics.

Controls
The controls changed quite a lot from Here Comes the Pain and they begin to require more skill, rather than just mashing buttons and hoping for the best. More combos were added into the game which requires the player to press buttons in specific sequences to perform the best moves however, most of the mini-games bring back the crazy button pressing tactics loved by most WWE game fans. Overall the increase in combinations made this game much harder than previous installments, but definitely more enjoyable.
