Synopsis (Wikipedia)

Combat Arms is a free-to-play multiplayer first-person shooter developed by South Korea based developer Doobic Studios and published by Nexon.
It incorporated HackShield (made by AhnLab) as its hacking prevention system before Nexon Guard (Black Cipher), the company's own system, was released.

Multiplayer

The Multiplayer experience of Combat Arms is similar to other popular First-Person Shooters like the "Call of Duty" series or "Counter Strike" except Combat Arms is a free-to-play game. There are a large variety of Multiplayer maps to choose from, a whole lot of different types of game modes, and many different servers to play on so if one isn't working out for you because of lag or other issues, you could choose another.

When you first play Combat Arms you may have some trouble with it because you'll need to get used to it at first, it's not a game where you see an enemy, spray him, and hope to get a kill. The amount of recoil on the guns (especially the starting off one) is kind of insane because if you hold the left-click button down on your mouse for too long then your recoil will go all over the place, the enemy will kill you, and you will gain absolutely nothing from that. So don't go into your first game hoping to get 20 kills right off the bat because chances are, you won't. You'll have to learn how to balance out the guns you are using in order to turn better which may take some time, but it will pay off at one point or another.

Since Combat Arms is a free-to-play game 'Nexon' does have to make some money, right? How they do that is by making things like guns, equipment, and other Customizable features in Combat Arms cost money. There are often things that will let you try out a gun or something like that but you won't come across those that often so you'll have to buy a gun in order to use it by using "Nexons" in-game currency they like to call "NX" which you'll get very familiar with if you get hooked by this game. So a key thing that you'll need to remember is that Ranking up usually won't unlock you a new gun, you'll have to purchase it instead which may be good in some cases if you are a low rank and you purchase a gun that you find yourself good with you won't have any problems with people who are higher ranks than you or people around your skill range.

Generally, your Multiplayer experience will turn out to be just fine most of the games you play. If your computer is fine with running it and you learn the basics of it, the game will work in your favor in terms of you doing very well in many games that you play.

Graphics

The graphics in Combat Arms aren't really that bad at all, they are a little bit better than similar games that released around this time, which is good. It shouldn't be something you have to stress about unless your computer isn't good at running games then you may have to tone them down a bit to fit your computers limits. The weapons from a first person point of view looks fairly similar to how they look in real life. The player models, scenery, and other elements of the game will fit in perfectly of what the map and other surroundings are so if you are in a snowy environment then the trees and buildings might have some snow covered on it.

Just try not to focus on the graphics too much or else it might look sort of bad, they are great enough to fit some expectations. So with that said worry about helping out your team or other factors in the game instead.

Controls

If you are familiar with PC games (especially FPS's) then Combat Arms should be no different at all. It has a similar control scheme as other games and is designed to fit for your keyboard only. There are ways to play this game with a Xbox 360 Controller but playing it will cause confusion so it's best to keep playing with the keyboard & mouse. To make it so you are able to easily maneuver around the map without having to worry about dying, you should try and learn the Keyboard keys if you don't know them by now.

You could easily look at the Control Menu if you are in a game by pressing the F1 button, I recommend doing this while you are not in the middle of a battle.

Rating

7.5/10

I felt like Combat Arms deserved a little bit of a better score than average. It's a fun and could be addictive game but there are hackers on it which ruins the fun in some cases (especially when you are doing very well in a game). Other problems are it could be unbalanced because of people having better guns than you so you'll have to know that when playing certain modes.

Overall, it's a great game, you should download it if you haven't played it already. Remember, it's free and you could find it on Steam.

Not even.

If you played during the times of lifetaker which put you down to 0hp but not dead, you'd go 0-295 in a single game.

That and the OPK (one position kill) god mode, flight hacks, free aimbots and junk it's totally ruined.
