That sucks. Headphones shouldn't break without a fight, but Beats just don't have that resilience. For $100, I'd get the Shure SE215. I think they're available for $90 as well. They're very well-built (you won't break them as easily), very comfortable, bassy, and they isolate very well.

If you can spend some more, like around $145, the JVC HA-FXT90 is an incredible bassy IEM for the price. Ask me if you want to get them, though, since they're a bit harder to get a hold of than the SE215.

i forgot to add, one of my key things is that the earbud must stick IN my ear and not fall out every 30 seconds.i currently have the Bose IE2 audio headphones. and the one thing i do like about them is that they stick in your ear. so if you have reccomendations that are HIGH quality but also stay IN your ear, i would appreciate it, Thanks!

The SE215 should do a particularly good job with staying in. The design is such that the whole thing sits inside of your ear with the wire going up and around your ear. This cuts down on cable noise, makes it hard to tug them out, and keeps them in place. You can actually wear most IEMs over the ear, but these are made for it! They also have a great seal, which should help.

You could also order some Comply foam tips, which make the fit more comfortable and easier to achieve. They're like $15.

heey r00t_b33r and ishcabible,

so after months of planning, i went to the local headphone store and tried on various iem's.

I tried:
The Audeo Phonak PFE 122's, VSonic GR07's, Shure SE215, 315, 425 and 535, klipsch s4 (reference), x10, UE TF10, JVC HA-FXT90.. and a few others that arent notable enough to mention.

anywayyy, i found it funny because i noticed you recommended the SE215's to someone, and I purchased them literally half an hour ago haha,

i just got home and am putting the things to the test.

So far, I've noticed that they are extremely precise, not very loud (i've absolutely cranked the volume on my phone and laptop), not too bassy but good enough for me.

The removable cable is amazing, never had it before and i absolutely love it.

The eartips are friggin impossible to remove, but thankfully the stock comply foam eartips work fine for me, i've heard you can dump the earbuds in the freezer for a minute and the tips will come right off.

I still have 400 bucks of left over birthday money so i may purchase an amp just to get the **** a bit louder.

they are by far the best pair of headphones i've ever owned, especially considering the low price of 90 bucks.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Hey r00t, Just wanted to say a few months ago I posted saying I wanted some headphones
with a lot of bass in them for dubstep, and you recommended me, Skullcandy Aviators,
Just recently I bought them, and they work like a charm, I really appreciate it, you saved me loads
of money. At first I was thinking about getting beats but these things are like the same things with \
bass. Really appreciate it!

OK, I'm really jealous you got to try all those. That's WAY more than I've had the opportunity to use! I'm glad to hear you got something you like!

Oh, and for an amp. How much do you want to spend? A Fiio E6 should suffice for these. It adds more power and has a bass-boost feature that's actually really nice! It's also $20! Pair it with a Fiio L9 LOD and you're good to go. Assuming you're listening from an iDevice. I also suggest some 3M Dual-Lock tape to hold the little guy to your player:

I'm happy you like them! I was able to use the Aviator for awhile, and I was pretty impressed with it considering I was not expecting greatness. I ended up really enjoying them. And thanks for reporting back, very few people do it. Most people just do a sort of hit and run and leave me wondering if they took or even saw my advice.

Just wanted to show how much it really meant to me.
That and how much it saved me!

thats actually really coincidental because that's the exact amp i was eyeing at the store earlier!

if it makes any difference i'm not taking portability into heavy consideration, i've got a pair of klipsch s1's for travelling purposes, these were intended to be more for home use.

The bass boost feature sounds really cool because that's the main area the 215's are lacking in.

Anyway, i'm going back to the store sometime this week so i'll probably come out with an amp.

And yea man, it was seriously cool to try out all the 'phones, the Phonaks were really nice, slightly more bassy and extremely well balanced, but their sound signature was actually pretty similar to that of the Shures. I wasn't overly impressed with the Vsonics, but they were still pretty awesome. I was actually kind of disappointed with the TF10's, mostly because i'd been reading all about how great they are and hyping myself up, then when they only sounded slightly better than the others i'd been trying i was kind of crushed hahaha

I also got the opportunity to try out some on/over ears, namely the AiAiAi TMA-1, Grado SR225i's, Phiaton's (can't remember the model name), and Klipsch M40's.

They were all wonderful, but i'd already made up my mind for in ears and really just did it for fun and for the experience.

Thanks again for all the help, I'll probably keep lurking this thread and maybe even occasionally giving my "valuable" input, especially if someone asks for recommendations in the 100 dollar range as i've kind of got them all memorized now

Haha, sounds like you didn't really like the non-bassy IEMs! The TF10 is bright and the GR07 is neutral, and you were clearly looking for something bass-oriented. I'm also really surprised to see a store carrying the FXT90, though. What store is it and where? I wish there was something like that near me.
