Koss Portapro or Koss KSC75 for on-ear (both have the same drivers, but use a very different design. The KSC75s are dirt cheap, but you might not like the design. Sound quality is the best out there for what you pay, though.)

For in-ear, Meelectronics M6, Brainwavz M1 or Beta, or the JVC Marshmallow.

Grados might be your thing. They are, as I have said many times before, LEGENDARY for rock music. They are worlds away from the Beats in that they have an open design, are very simple, and focus solely on sound quality. They are very utilitarian in that they are built with only that purpose in mind. They use some pretty "meh" materials with their lower-end models, but it doesn't really matter as much as you would think. They're well built, versatile, strong, and you might find that you like the way they look. Comfort is good, too. You might want to try these out before you buy if you have an opportunity at an audio-oriented retailer or somewhere else. They are definitely not for everyone. Bassheads included. They have nice bass, but considering they are open, bass takes a hit. Trebles and mids are fantastic, though, as they should be for rock.

If you want full-size yet fairly portable cans, the Audio Technica M50s are for you. Arguably the best bang for your buck in their price range and great performers for all genres. I can say that they really shine with my metalcore FLAC collection and I love them for all types of rock. They won't have the ridiculous bass-centric signature that the Beats Studios do, but they are much cheaper and have much better overall quality. The quality of bass is better on the M50s, while the Beats have "more." Quality is always better than quantity. The mids and trebles of the M50s make the Beats look like the garbage they are.

Almost missed you there. Sorry for the late response.

Since dubstep tends to have very poor mastering quality and low bitrate files, 200 bucks might be a bit much. Still, that doesn't mean you won't see improvements. Just remember, sound quality starts at the source, the files.

The Sony XB Series is one of the only bass-heavy lines I would consider, and there are only good things to be said of them. I recommend the XB 700s, the XB 1000s depending on the price you can get for them. They're a little tricky now, but they are VERY nice headphones.

Another line to consider is the Ultrasone Pro series. You can get one that matches your budget, and they have great overall quality and, as is important for dubstep, bass. I'd look at the Ultrasone Pro 550 for your budget. They also respond to amping well, if I'm remembering correctly.

IDK if this helps anyone, but i have some nice Ozone Ear Buds for $15.
If anyone has a lower budget they are extremely nice. No problems with them and i've have them for a while now.

Greetings friend,

I'd like to amend that statement. Ultrasone wise, I would have to say go with either the Ultrasone DJ1 or DJ1s. They are the same as the Pro550s, but look better and have more bass. The DJ1 has more bass, while the DJ1s has better clarity and comfort. Either way, this is what I recommend.

Happy trails,
Zim

Greetings friend,

As it has been previously said, the MeElectronic M6 is a great IEM at this price point. In addition, you should get some Koss PortaPros with that leftover money for when you don't need IEMs.

Good luck,
Zim

For you, the post immediately above this one applies to you. I would also suggest the Koss KSC75s for on-ear/clip-ons and the Brainwavz M2 for in-ear for both.
