Okay, im going to tell you EVERYTHING, so only answer if you have read it all.

Im 15 years old (almost 16) and am in my last year at secondary school. when i was 13 my parents got me a laptop for christmas (2009), it probally cost around 100. it was bad, really bad but i had no idea about computers then so i loved it.

Around may 2010 i realized that my laptop was no good, it couldnt run without the charger and always overheated and died, so i asked for a new laptop, anything was better that what i had then. So my parents found a cheap deal (200) and brought me a new laptop as a very early Christmas present (i didnt get much at christmas 2010) so i had my new laptop! it seemed great, it was a big upgrade from what i previously had. plus it could run some games!

Christmas 2010 came and went and my laptop was doing an ok job. Then when my birthday rolled around (february 2011) i knew what i wanted to do, i wanted to learn how to develop games myself, so i wanted another laptop that could handle all that plus i wanted it to be able to play games aswell. so for my birthday i saved up 550 and purchased another laptop. this time around i knew quite alot about computers so i knew i had brought the best laptop i could buy with my 550. This laptop is the one i am currently using to type this. it has

Processor: Intel i3
RAM: 4GB
Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce 310M 512mb
HDD: 500GB

It took me ages to convince my parents to let me buy this laptop as i have already had 2, so i told them what i wanted to do and how my old laptop is too slow and its no good for gaming and eventually they let me get it

yeah its great! i can run a most games on it now but i have to have the specs down to a minimum. and it is still working fine up to today. i can run alot of programmes i need for my game development im learning and it is a pretty powerful laptop.

So here is my problem. Christmas 2011 is coming very soon and my parents keep bugging me about what i want and i honestly dont know i have everything i need, xbox, decent tv, decent laptop, all of that good stuff and the only thing that has crossed my mind is a gaming PC, now before you think anything, here me out.

i have always wanted a gaming PC desktop as they are so much better and more powerful that laptops, my laptop will be great when i travel to places as it is portable but i want to experience the best of the best. if i didnt buy this laptop for my birthday then i know they would get me one for christmas but cause ive had 3 laptops in such a small space of time i dont think i have no hope.

i have found a amazing gaming desktop for 530 and i want to ask my parents for it as i have no idea what else to get and this is the thing i want the most. i am also willing to pay for a monitor and accessories myself as it doesnt come with one.

i have been thinking of ways to ask them to get me it but i dont think any of my ideas will work. plus i cant use the excuses like 'my old laptop is so slow and this PC is so fast' as my laptop isnt slow.

i also told my parents that this laptop can run alot of games so they would let me buy it so i cant say 'my laptop is good but its no good for gaming'

i have thought about mentioning the fact that im going to be going college soon to study IT and game development, or that i want to play games with maxed out settings to get the full experience. also i have thought about saying that the PC will last me years as it is upgradable so when new software comes out i can just put parts in.

sorry this is so long but i really want this PC and i want to know what you guys think? what should i say? please help me

thanks.

This so-called gaming PC you found for $530 can't be a real gaming PC. To build a real gaming PC including a HDD, monitor, keyboard/mouse, and operating system, you will need to spend at least about $900. Probably more like $1000-$1100. All I can suggest is to sell your laptop if you want to get one by Christmas. Or once you turn 16, get a job.

If you let me know your budget, I can help you find parts for building your own gaming PC. It's much cheaper then buying a brand PC and it is not hard to build one at all. Go watch the tutorial by Newegg if you don't believe me.

Oh I see. Then you just need to increase your budget a little bit more. I think the place to buy parts in the UK is scan.co.uk

You live in the UK, my friends dad owns a computer shop and they can make a high end (super high end) gaming pc for around 500 pounds

If you want PM me and i will tell you how to get in contact with this guy, depending on where you live you could probably go checkout his shop.

(It is in tonbridge)

Even if you cant get the the shop i believe they have a website, idk what it is but i will check if you want one.

Send me a personal message.

Hello I do belive your budget is just a little bit to small but if you check out the website: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

You can get good PC's. If you want you can also send them a email telling them the specs you would like and your budget and they will reply with a recommended PC set up.

This is the website I used to get my new gaming PC a few weeks ago and the service is really good.

i used cyberpower couple of months ago, they're great. spend about 1000 British pounds on a rig and it's amazing. I don't think you should get a laptop though.
