I have repaired a few "Bricked" devices (including my own) once out of warranty and saved all data used in an archive, I have provided links to these archives and in each archive you will find a PDF containing step by step instructions to flashing the target device.

Warning: Only do this on the target device(s) as using these guides on any other device may just turn your phone into an expensive paperweight!
Only do this if your device is out of warranty / if you are willing to void your warranty.

Galaxy S - 2.3.6 (XXJVU)

Current android version used on the GT-I9000 Series / Galaxy S (At time of posting), If you have tried to update using Kies and found your phone has bricked itself (Normally caused by driver issues) then this archive will hopefully get you out of this situation!

GT-I9000 - 4.0.4 (AOPK-M5)

This guide will get your GT-I9000 (Galaxy S) working on ICS, This OS is the latest version of android mobile operating system and may will never be released as an official update from your devices provider but is being shipped out with the new Galaxy S3 at the end of may 2012.

If you have a GT-I9000 and want to have it running the latest android operating system then this is for you!
