I was watching basketball on my laptop and my internet froze, then closed down internet explorer, and then shut down my computer. By itself. When I try to turn my computer it tells me that windows has shut down do to an error that can affect my computer. When I try to start windows normally it gives me an error message and shuts down my computer. When I click on the other option of letting the computer fix it, it goes on for hours searching for the problem, it searched for 10 hours last night. What can I do? Any ideas?

I'm on my desktop now, it is my laptop that won't work.

What happens when you start in safe mode? Press F8 on BIOS screen and pick safe mode. If it boots then its a program issue. If not then its windows and we can go from there.

When the manufactures logo show. Basically, as soon as you press power. Press F8.

Pick "Safe Mode" and see if it boots. Let us know what it does.
